The December 1st article reminds us that South Bend area is not immune to porch piracy.
In one recent study, Chicago-based C&R Research found that the average consumer is receiving 45 packages a year and that 36% of the consumers it surveyed reported having a package stolen at least once within the past 12 months. Furthermore, C&R found that 92% of respondents expect to receive at least one package during the holidays and that nearly half are worried about having an item stolen.
With average monthly e-commerce spending of about $222 per month, it’s no wonder that shoppers are worried about the possibility of theft and why pirates are attracted to those boxes.
